INKTERAKTIV, aka Caro Clarke is a London based Urban Paper Artist.
She works mostly with neon paper using paper quilling techniques. Born in Paris, France in 1976, she has spent most of her life travelling, finally settling in London in 2006. Following a degree in Art History & Fine Art with an emphasis on paper, bookbinding and packaging, Caro went on to receive a BFA in Graphic Design & Photography from SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design) in 1998. Her physical tools were replaced by screens and soon the original plan of becoming an artist left way for the digital age. After 25+ years working as a Creative Director and digital designer on virtual experiences and installations for advertising agencies, design studios and private clients ranging from the likes of Vodafone, Heineken, Virgin, Mercure Hotels, NHS and Lilly to name a few, Caro hung up her hat as Creative Director to focus more on her initial love for all things paper art. Caro's work emphasises the delicacy of paper versus its architectural structure within a minimalist setting. She draws inspiration for her pieces from the urban landscape and her own travels as well as her love for neon lighting, typography, architecture and geometrical patterns. She strives to be environmentally friendly in her practice and use of materials. Caro campaigns for global dog welfare, climate change & sustainability, homelessness, ageism and women's rights. She works mostly from her East London based studio, either solo or collaborating with other like minded artists around the world. She occasionally teaches art, branding and online marketing for BA and MA programs at several universities across London as well as running workshops. Artist note: “If you want to know more or just say hello, feel free to follow me on Instagram. For work related topics, please email me. Thanks for popping by! x Caro" |
